BMBC trial: poster prizes 2015

The aim of the BMBC (Brain Metastases in Breast Cancer Network Germany) register trial is to collect prospective and retrospective data about the course of the disease in patients with brain metastases from breast cancer. Furthermore, scientific projects are planned to help gain a clearer understanding of what causes the formation of brain metastases in breast cancer patients.

In October, Dr. Elena Laakmann and Ms. V. Scriba (doctoral student) from the University Hospital of Hamburg-Eppendorf won the poster prize sponsored by the Translational Research Committee of the AGO for their poster entitled “Brain metastasizing patterns in metastatic breast cancer based on tumour biology: subanalysis within the context of the BMBC register” (Hirnmetastasierungsmuster beim metastasierten Mammakarzinom in Abhängigkeit von der Tumorbiologie: Subanalyse im Rahmen des BMBC Registers).

We are also pleased to announce that the poster entitled "Brain Metastases in Breast Cancer Network Germany (BMBC, GBG 79): Multicentric, retro- and prospective collection of patient data and biomaterial from breast cancer patients with brain metastases" won the poster prize at the Annual Brain Metastases Research and Emerging Therapies Meeting in Marseille (2 - 3 October 2015). The poster can be viewed here.
